Team Meeting #1

The Design Team, made up of members from Parsons and DreamYard met for the first time at Parsons in a digital design lab. The goal of the first meeting was to establish a shared understanding of what a learning portfolio is and how it can be used both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Design Team came to the meeting with a series of questions about learning portfolios to share with the group. The team was asked to write all questions on post-it notes and share them with the group. Everyone labeled the questions as "low," "medium," or "high" priority. This exercise helped the team to establish shared goals.

The DreamYard Educators shared with the group their plans for implementing a Learning Portfolio lesson plan in their classroom. Each educator showed their class blog and a shared a curriculum plan for how they will teach blogging to their students.

The Dream Yard educators shared reflections about the process and curriculum plan with the group for implementing the learning portfolio in their class.
